The bottom intake pump can be used with an electronic switch for starting or stopping the pump. When the tap is opened and closed it adjusts the flow rate and pressure, keeping them constant. By using a small submersible bore pump with a pressure switch, you can have a super quiet, super reliable rain water tank pump. A submersible bore pump is much more reliable than a regular pressure pump. The submersible cable from the pump is wired into the Control Switch. From the Control Switch it is wired into the Pressure Switch. From the Pressure Switch it plugs into a 240V electrical outlet. An example below:
The above method in this diagram can also be used to direct feed from the bore to the garden and/or house, where there is no water tank. If you are going to direct feed, please be aware that the pressure control switch is pre-wired and contains electrical power with a maximum of 10 Amps. So please only use with bore pumps up to 1Hp / 0.75kw |
